Back in 2008, Deftones decided to shelve their upcoming album, "Eros", due to bassist, and original member, Chi getting into a horrific accident causing injuries that caused complications that claimed his life in 2013. The album has never been released, mixed, or officially completed and there have been some bootlegs released revolving songs from that session but today, it appears, one of the most completely versions has leaked.

Now, while it has been very difficult to find a good source since the initial leak, Youtube has been working overtime taking down any and all uploads of the album, there are still some sources that carry the album, for now. But while many fans are conflicted if they should hear this or not, it would be a shame to not listen to what could have been as there is still no official word that these recordings will ever be officially released. Now, the one thing to note and understand... the recordings are not mixed, the songs are complete but not fully fleshed out as the band did not collectively finish the songs, and these are just a glimpse of what could have been had they continued working on these.
While for many fans, they will listen and dissect the choices in the songs, these are to be considered demos of that era and, again, "a glimpse of what could have been" as the band went on to write "Diamond Eyes" because they felt it was best to restart creatively at the time. What you do hear, though, is an album that would fit perfectly after "Saturday Night Wrist" and would continue to push Deftone's sound forward in the genre.
