Deth Red Sabaoth is Danzig's ninth studio album, released in 2010 after a six-year silence following Circle of Snakes (2004). Self-produced by Glenn Danzig at Sunset Lodge in Los Angeles and Paramount Studios in Hollywood, it arrived as the band's most fully realized heavy metal statement in over a decade — and the charts agreed. It became Danzig's highest-charting album since Danzig 4 in 1994.
The album introduced a lineup shift that collectors still discuss: the first Danzig studio record to feature Johnny Kelly — drummer of Type O Negative — alongside longtime guitarist Tommy Victor (Prong). Their combined weight is audible across every track. Glenn also approached the recording with deliberate sonic anachronism, running his guitar through 1970s Kustom tuck'n'roll bass amps to generate a wholly organic, warm, and physically heavy tone that separates Deth Red Sabaoth from anything else in the catalog.
The album opens with Hammer of the Gods and closes with Left Hand Rise Above — eleven tracks, 52 minutes, and a unified occult heaviness that holds from start to finish. On a Wicked Night was the lead single. Pyre of Souls appears in two versions. Night Star Hel is the album's most hypnotic entry.
