Waxwork Records is proud to release the first-ever vinyl pressing of Brian Tyler's original score for Bubba Ho-Tep — Don Coscarelli's beloved 2002 comedy horror cult classic.
The film stars Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Army of Darkness) as Sebastian Haff, a retirement home resident who claims to be the real Elvis Presley, and Ossie Davis as Jack, a man who insists he is John F. Kennedy. Together, they face down an ancient Egyptian mummy terrorizing their nursing home — because nobody else will. Beneath the absurdity, Bubba Ho-Tep is genuinely moving: a meditation on aging, identity, mortality, and what it means to still matter when the world has forgotten you. The film also features a cameo by Reggie Bannister from Coscarelli's Phantasm series.
Brian Tyler's score matches the film's tonal range perfectly — dusty, blues-inflected, and quietly haunting, with enough wit to honor the comedy and enough weight to honor the heart underneath it. Based on the novella by Joe R. Lansdale, Bubba Ho-Tep has earned its cult status, and this Waxwork pressing gives the score the physical home it has always deserved.
